Information Systems Department has been education IT-specialists since 1992 and is a structural unit of the Faculty of Information Technologies of the Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov.
Aim of the department is to improve the quality of educational services, to perform educational, scientific and pedagogic activities on the level that provides the customers of education with the services that meet all the international standards.
Objective of activities of department is to educate the specialists having extensive theoretical and practical expertise, profound professional knowledge and skills that comply with all the corresponding state educational standards of the specialty.
Department possesses a perfect material and technical base and highly qualified teaching staff, which allows students to acquire high quality professional knowledge and become experts in the sphere of information and telecommunication technologies, communication systems and management.
History of Information Systems Department starts in 1992, when Applied Mathematics Department was created due to establishment of Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov on the basis of Kostanay Pedagogical Institute. Since that period the department has educated experts with qualification of application mathematician in the sphere of economics.
Experienced teacher, specialist in the sphere of computer science, associate professor Geveyler Gennady Nikolayevich was the first head of department in 1992. In 1996 Kalzhanov Marat Umirbekovich, who had graduated from postgraduate course in Kiyev and successfully defended his thesis, became the head of department. Professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Fyodor Fyodorovich Mayer, who is currently provost for academic affairs and new educational technologies of Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov, has also made a great contribution to the development of the department.
Since 2001 the department has been a subdivision of the Faculty of Economics. Later it was reorganized in the Department of Advanced Mathematics and Information Systems under the guidance of Professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kuzhuleyev Zhenis Murzatayevich.
In 2006 Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, associate professor Abatov Nurlybay Tolepbergenovich became the head of the department, but in 2008 he became the dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies.
Candidate of Economic Sciences Zhunusov Kuat Muratovich, who had worked at the department since 1995, became the head of the department in 2008.
From September 2018 to the present, the department is headed by the master of technical sciences Kuzenbaev Batyrkhan Amanzholovich.
6B06102 Information systems provides the following educational programs:
- Management of information systems. Training of qualified specialists who own highly effective methods of designing business processes of economic information systems, using methods of economic, mathematical and computer modeling, for the implementation of business solutions in Internet systems with modern information technologies for management and financial accounting, logistics on the 1C: Enterprise platform.
- Information systems in telecommunications, communication and control systems. Training of qualified specialists in the operation of telecommunication equipment, equipment of local area networks, servers and personal computers, in the design of computer and telecommunication networks, ensuring their protection and reliability of information transfer, according to the principles of building Web-models in Internet systems.
Our graduates work at telecommunication companies, consulting agencies, advertising and publishing companies, banks and insurance agencies, tax and customs authorities, financial and government institutions, large enterprises of Kostanay region and Kazakhstan, local administrative bodies.
History of the department amounts to 16 graduations, while geography of employment and professional career of our graduates is the pride of the teaching staff of our department and university.
More than 700 highly qualified experts work in Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, the USA and other countries. Special attention should be paid to two-times chess champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan Peter Kostenko, software engineers of SSGPO Panchenko Anatoly and Zhumagulov Yerlan, director of computer company “LogyCom” Grigorovich Ruslan, head of information department of Kostanay branch of “KazPost” JSC Smirnov Andrei, chief economist of “Surgutneftegazbank” Gerasimova Irina, SAP administrator of Aravipharma company Dvurechenskaya Olga (Germany, Dresden), master student of Rochester University (Alabama) Tuganov David, etc.
Information Systems Department has qualified teaching staff that allows students to obtain professional skills and experience, as well as to become experts in the sphere of information technologies.
