Information technology (IT) as a science involves the application of mathematical and computational concepts, as well as an understanding of human-computer interaction, data structures, algorithms and software development, the systematic study of computer systems, software and networked information systems, including the use of scientific methods, principles and techniques for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of technological solutions.
IT specialist is a professional who works in the field of information technology and specializes in a certain field of activity and is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of technological systems and solutions. An IT professional works with computers, software, and telecommunications systems to provide technical support, troubleshoot, and improve the overall performance of technology systems.
The set of special disciplines that future IT specialists study is also quite large. These are Python programming, CNC machine control systems, computer systems security, computer graphics modeling, technical vision and sensor technologies, such new areas as artificial intelligence, neural networks, BigData analytics.
There are three levels of education at the department: bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies. Training of specialists is conducted in the state and Russian languages.
The department is equipped with laboratory classrooms of robotics, computational linguistics, programmable controllers, BigData.
Students of our department undergo industrial practice, undergraduates and doctoral students - scientific internships both within the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad.
A graduate of the software department has such a wide range of knowledge that he can easily find application in almost any field of information technology.
Graduates of our department work in IT consulting firms, telecommunications companies, financial institutions, healthcare organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, manufacturing and retail companies.

- manage the organization's computer network and telecommunications systems;
- design, implement and maintain the organization's database systems;

- design, create and maintain websites;
- collect, analyze and interpret large data sets to support decision-making in organizations.
