The electric power industry is a key global industry that determines the technological development of mankind.
An electrical engineer is a specialist who is responsible for the processes related to the distribution of electricity, is engaged in the design and operation of electrical networks and equipment.
In the course of training, students are taught a number of disciplines included in the educational program. Among them, the following specialized disciplines can be distinguished: automation of production mechanisms and technological complexes, engineering graphics, innovative electrical technologies and electrical equipment of modern industries, reliability of power supply and quality of electric energy, design of non-traditional and renewable energy installations, repair and operation of electrical equipment, construction, installation and operation of power supply devices, maintenance of power supply devices.
There are three levels of education at the department: bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies. Training of specialists is conducted in the state and Russian languages.
The department has 9 educational specialized laboratories in the building of the engineering and technical faculty, they conduct laboratory and practical classes in the disciplines of the department. There is a specialized training center for electric power engineers with a site for installation and repair of electrical installations of primary and secondary circuits, as well as a research laboratory for renewable energy sources.
The breadth of knowledge of students of our specialty is determined by two-stage practices. Most of the students do their practical training at the basic enterprises of the electric power industry (Kegok JSC, EPK Forfait LLP, Mezhregionenergotransit LLP, KF El Nur Service LLP, MBF group LLP and others).
Since 2020, the Electric Power Industry educational program has been participating in various national international Erasmus + projects, according to which academic mobility, international internships and trainings in various areas of education and science are available to students.
A graduate of the Department of Electric Power Engineering has such a wide range of knowledge that he can easily find application in almost any field.
The objects of professional activity of graduates are enterprises for the production, transmission, distribution and consumption of electricity, as well as all organizations related to electricity consumption.
Bachelors can hold primary positions of a category 1 technician, engineers, junior researchers, laboratory engineers, engineers of research institutions, design and design organizations without presenting work experience requirements, and many other positions.
Graduates of the electric power profile are always in demand in the labor market, according to employers, the qualification of specialists of our university is at a fairly high level.
